Kumagoro Cafe is a daily special shop located a 5-minute walk from Fukui Station. This is a cafe/dining room that was completed by renovating the 1st floor of the Nishiwaki Building, which still retains the retro atmosphere of the Showa era. The owner of Kumagoro's cafe, Seiko Ushikubo, holds a one-coin morning meal on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (and sometimes on Saturdays and Sundays), entitled "Morning Goro." Ms. Ushikubo, who originally worked at a soup specialty store, makes delicious homemade soups and breads that will warm you up the the mornings. In addition, since many people can use Kumagoro Cafe, it changes around often. It is used as a place for lunch using plenty of Fukui ingredients during the day, and as a place for a snack bar and events at night. It is an important place for people in Fukui to relax and meet, where various people come and go.
