Tsuchinao Japanware is a lacquerware manufacturer established in 1961. Uncharacteristically for Echizen lacquerware, where the division of labor is usually separated into different workshops, they have specialist craftsmen for all the crafting processes other than making the wooden base (undercoat, intermediate coating, top coating, maki-e) all work together to manufacture lacquerware in the same workshop. They make many lacquerware products that boast "robustness", and they also work on school lunch dishes for local elementary schools. At Tsunao Japanware, they not only make lacquerware that is usually used at home, but also items such as tumblers such as MOBILE TUMBLER / UMBRELLA BOTTLE with the concept of "carrying lacquer". In 2020, with the opening of their first store in the Kawada area of ​​Sabae City, fans of Tsuchinao Japanware from other prefectures have come to visit and view the products in person.
