Yamauni no Sato Hoyattei
Yamauni is a traditional condiment from the Kawada district of Sabae City. Contrary to the sea urchin-like appearance, the spicy flavor of yuzu and chili peppers is the addictive taste of Kawada's home. Seki-san, the cheerful mascot character of Echizentai, is playing a role in promoting this mountain sea urchin both domestically and internationally. Their native Kawada accent and cheerful smile always cheer me up. Hoyattei's standard menu item is "Yamauni Takoyaki", which is made by kneading plenty of yamauni into the batter. Freshly baked it has a sticky texture, and you can eat it deliciously even after it cools down. (We recommend the soy sauce flavor.) After the renovation to the Yamauni no Sato Hoyattei, they will release new menu items such as yamauni ramen. The space "Kawakore" that sells yamauni has also expanded. This is a must-see spot when you come to Kawada.
