SOE General Incorporated Association will grand open "Craft Invitation," a tourist information center that connects visitors with Echizen Sabae's craftsmanship, on Monday, July 2025, 7 in Kawada, Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, the "town of Echizen lacquerware."

SOE, a general incorporated association established in 2022, is a tourism regional development corporation that creates a sustainable region centered on industrial tourism in the Echizen Sabae region (Sabae City, Echizen City, and Echizen Town, Fukui Prefecture). This region is known as one of Japan's leading production areas, with a diverse range of manufacturing industries, from traditional crafts such as lacquerware, Japanese paper, chests, cutlery, and pottery, to local industries such as glasses and textiles.

The newly opened tourist information center, "Craft Invitation," aims to be a "window to the production area" that can be used by tourists, creators, buyers, and local people as well as by people in the region, as a base for craft travel in Fukui. Please take note of the interior design and exhibits that allow you to feel the craftsmanship and history of Echizen Sabae, such as the lacquered counter and lampshades made from lacquerware wood.
